- URGENT REQUEST - CSF must be transported immediately to the Lab
- The main amoeba causing amoebic meningitis is Naegleria fowlerii, Acanthamoeba can also be a rare cause.
- PLBOP Microbiology will do an initial microscopy; then referral to Waikato Hospital Laboratory.
