- DO NOT Centrifuge; whole blood required
- DO NOT share sample; dedicated tube required
- Clotted blood is unacceptable
- Red cell cholinesterase should be requested for CHRONIC exposure/poisoning of organophosphate/carbamate
- Most commonly requested on agriculture workers and sprayers using organophosphate sprays
- For Acute poisoning, request Serum/Plasma Cholinesterase
