  • DO NOT Centrifuge; whole blood required
  • DO NOT share sample; dedicated tube required
  • Clotted blood is unacceptable
  • Red cell cholinesterase should be requested for CHRONIC exposure/poisoning of organophosphate/carbamate
  • Most commonly requested on agriculture workers and sprayers using organophosphate sprays
  • For Acute poisoning, request Serum/Plasma Cholinesterase
