Notes
2x plain tubes and 1x 6mL EDTA are required for Cryofibrinogen.
All Cryofibrinogen requests will also have cryoglobulin added.
Use pre-warmed tubes/heat block and maintain tubes at 37C after collection.
6mL EDTA sample must be warm separated. Label the aliquot with Patient ID and state “EDTA warm separated”.
For plain tubes, incubate for at least 1 hour at 37C before separation.
A min. of 4mL of serum (or plasma) is required.
Transport aliquots to LabPlus in room temperature.
Any samples transported frozen or <=4C will be rejected.

Collection must be at Waikato Hospital phlebotomy clinic, refer patient directly to Waikato Hospital. Register COMS &WHL. All Cryofibrinogen requests will also have cryoglobulin added.
