DGP IgG

Pathlab will perform anti-tissue transglutaminase (tTG) IgA as the initial screening tests for coeliac disease for both adults and children. Total IgA will be added by the lab if indicated based on the tTG-IgA assay response. IgG anti-deamidated gliadin peptide (DGP) will be performed automatically if IgA is low (<0.2g/L) and only DGP IgG will be reported if total IgA is deficient (<0.05g/L).

IgA endomysial antibodies (EMA) will be performed automatically on children with first time tTG >200CU.

IgG DGP or IgA endomysial antibodies (EMA) will otherwise only be performed if a request is made from a specialist or by primary care on behalf of a specialist (provide name of specialist on request form).
