Collection Information

Preparation

  • Patient can go to any collection centre able to adminiter 75g glucose and take samples every 30 minutes for 2 hour
  • Samples should be taken at Fasting, 30 min, 60 mins, 90 mins & 120 mins
  • Each collect should be Fluoride for Glucose and SST for Growth Hormone
  • 5 separate forms each with the paired sample would be preferred. On each form should be time of collection.

Notes

  • Barcode each set of blood separately.
  • Glucose done inhouse Biochemistry, Growth Hormone send to Waikato Hospital Laboratory.
  • Ensure forms clearly identified for "Fasting"; "30 mins"; "60 mins"; "90 mins" & "120 mins"
  • Contact Biochemistry Services Lead and give indication of when samples will arrive at Waikato Hospital Laboratory.
