Collection Information

Delivery and Handling

Collect specimens as aseptically as possible into a sterile urine pot. Add sufficient isotonic saline to kept specimen moist. Unfixed fresh specimens only - No Formalin.

Notes

Test should be ordered in the event of :

History of unexplained foetal loss e.g 3 or more miscarriages.
Abnormality on ultra sound.
Dysmorphic findings following foetal death, stillbirth, perinatal death. Consider parental blood analysis.
