Notes

Females:

Collect a vaginal swab and place in normal microbiology transport media. Store at room temperature. Urine specimens from females are not acceptable. Sample must reach Lab+ within 24 hours.

Males:

Collect urethral swab. Urine specimens are not acceptable due to delay in transport to the external lab. (Must reach Lab+ within 2 hours) Semen sample in a plain container or UTM tube, store in room temperature and must reach Lab+ within 24 hours.
